← Why MacbachThe comparison

Macbach
vs ProSites.

ProSites builds templated practice websites at volume and low monthly cost. Macbach builds a custom site you own, one practice per market, engineered to win local search. The difference shows up in duplicate-content risk, competitor exclusivity, and what you keep when you leave.

Based on publicly available pricing pages, published agency contracts we have reviewed, and the patterns we see when practices leave one agency for another. We do not trash competitors; we frame tradeoffs.

01
Custom or templated
Macbach

A custom site, designed and built for your practice, your market, and your search targets. No shared template, no shared copy.

ProSites

Template-based sites produced at volume across thousands of practices. Efficient and affordable, but built from shared frameworks and copy patterns.

02
Duplicate-content risk
Macbach

Every page is original, written for your practice. There is no near-identical version of your content sitting on a hundred competitors' sites.

ProSites

When the same template and stock copy are reused across many practices, blocks of near-identical content can appear across dozens of sites. Search engines can devalue duplicated content, which caps organic performance.

03
Competitor exclusivity
Macbach

We work one practice per category per market. We do not take your direct competitor.

ProSites

A volume provider serving thousands of practices, including, by definition, practices that compete with each other in the same area. No exclusivity.

04
Who owns the site
Macbach

Your domain, code, content, and patient data are yours, and the site stays live and ranking when you leave. The managed engine on top, the forms, the live optimization, the local pages, and the CRM, is the licensed part. A templated platform site, by contrast, lives inside the vendor's system.

ProSites

Sites are built and hosted within the ProSites platform; ownership and portability terms are not published transparently. Confirm exactly what you keep at exit before you sign.

05
Pricing transparency
Macbach

Published, scope-based fees on the site.

ProSites

Quote-driven, commonly reported around the low hundreds per month with annual terms. Not published as a clear, comparable scope.

06
Search and local depth
Macbach

Map-pack engineering, organic, schema graph, and reviews, the full local-search stack, run as products.

ProSites

Marketing add-ons layered onto the template product. Adequate for presence; thinner on the engineering that wins competitive local search.

07
Healthcare specialty depth
Macbach

Healthcare only since 2007, dental and dental specialty among six verticals.

ProSites

Strong dental focus and scale; a website-and-marketing product company first.

08
HIPAA and patient-data posture
Macbach

Server-side validation, no PHI in analytics or ad remarketing, patient data never sent to ad platforms.

ProSites

Platform-standard forms and tracking; verify the data flow per engagement.

09
Exit terms
Macbach

Your site, domain, content, and patient data are yours and stay live; the data is never held hostage. The lead engine, the forms, the live schema, the local pages, and the CRM, is a managed service that ends with the engagement.

ProSites

Governed by platform terms; confirm whether the site and content travel with you before committing.

The honest read

Where ProSites
actually wins.

ProSites is a real, established product with thousands of dental clients, and for a practice that wants a presentable website live quickly at a low monthly price, it does that job. If budget is the binding constraint and the goal is simply to exist online, the volume-template model is a rational choice, and ProSites is good at it.

The trade is built into the model. Templated sites produced at scale tend to reuse design and copy across many practices, which creates duplicate-content exposure that can cap organic search, and a volume provider serving thousands of dentists makes no promise not to also serve your direct competitor. Macbach runs the opposite model: a custom, original site, one practice per category per market, owned by you, engineered for the local search that actually brings new patients.

The fit test: if you need an inexpensive, fast, presentable site and competitive organic search is not the priority, a template product like ProSites is sensible. If you intend to win local and organic search in a contested market, you want original content, category exclusivity, and a site you own, which is the case for a custom build. Different goals, and the honest answer depends on whether you are buying a presence or buying growth.

Answered

Before you ask.

Is duplicate content really a problem with template sites?
It can be. When many practices are built on the same template with the same or lightly-edited stock copy, large blocks of near-identical content end up living across dozens of sites. Search engines are designed to consolidate or devalue duplicated content, which limits how well any one of those sites can rank organically. Original, practice-specific content avoids the problem entirely.
Will ProSites work with my competitors too?
Almost certainly, given the scale. A provider serving thousands of dental practices is, by the math, serving practices that compete with one another in the same markets. There is no exclusivity. Macbach works one practice per category per market and will not take your direct competitor.
Do I own my site with ProSites?
ProSites builds and hosts within its platform, and the ownership and portability terms are not published clearly, so the honest answer is to confirm exactly what you keep at exit in your own contract before signing. With Macbach, ownership is unambiguous: the site, content, and data are yours from day one.
When does Macbach cost more, and is it worth it?
A custom, owned, exclusive site costs more than a shared template, yes. It is worth it when you are competing for local and organic search and need original content, no duplicate-content drag, exclusivity from competitors, and a site you keep. If you only need a basic presence and price is the priority, a template is the rational choice. We will tell you which situation you are in.
